Apple Likely To Set Up iPhone Manufacturing Facility In Bengaluru-India
Bengaluru: The Master of phone maker Apple is more likely planning to set up a manufacturing unit for the Indian market in Bengaluru as early as in April 2107. A Taiwan-based Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) named Wistron Corporation would set up a facility for Apple in Pennya, the biggest industrial area in Asia. Considering Pennya, the city’s industrial hub would opt for iPhone manufacturing. The production would begin from next April told the industrial sources to the daily.

The company is very serious about starting the assembly operations sooner from early April 2017 and thus moving towards the complete manufacturing of the device in India by the end of next year, the top sources of the company confirmed to the TOI.
The multiple sources from within the company also mentioned that Bangalore is looked seriously. Aiming that the local manufacturers would help the company lower its phone prices. Such that to meet the competition in the market and to attract the consumers to benefit towards reducing the 12.5 percent of additional duty as of now.
Notably, Apple India has listed two productions related job offers in its portal in Bengaluru for the post of iPhone Operations Program Manager (OPM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) Product Quality Manager. Thus adding another confirmation.
The job portal provided the description that the OPM with superior product quality and maximum customer availability would lead the master of mobile maker’s new products ramp in India. And would also own the operational success of the product throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Apple’s largest Taiwan-based OEM, Foxconn earlier started the process to set up a manufacturing unit in Maharastra with an assumption that the plant would make products only for the master of the mobile maker. Lately found that Foxconn has tied up with Xiaomi and OnePlus.
Probably this announcement would be the Apple’s second biggest note for Bangalore. Earlier in May, the company has announced the design and development accelerator in the city for the growth of iOS developer community. Also, to guide the Indian developers to learn the companies programming language Swift and develop apps for Apple TV’s and facility likely to open the next year.
More notably, CEO of Apple, Tim Cook‘s visit to India earlier this year was a sign of the importance that the company have in the Indian market. A report says that the master of mobile maker sold 2.5 million iPhones from October 2015 to September 2016 in India which is 50% rise over the past year.
If the master of mobile maker sets up the manufacturing plant in India would provide the company with 100% rise when compared to this year as the iPhone attains a decent price with local production.
