Nokia Join Hands with Airtel to Create Roadmap for 5G, IoT applications
In a strategic move, Finnish telecom equipment manufacturer Nokia and India‘s largest telecom service provider Bharti Airtel have partnered to create the roadmap for network evolution to the 5G technology standard and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled devices. Nokia and Airtel will build on 4G concerning cost effectiveness, power, and operation with the highest level of quality and reliability.
The Director-Network Services (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel, Abhay Savargaonkar, has said in a statement, “Airtel has always been a trying to roll out the latest technologies to deliver a superior experience to its customer. The IoT applications and 5G technologies have an enormous potential to transform lives, and we are very pleased to partner with Nokia to enable the future technologies for our clients.”
The 5G network technology promises to provide dramatic improvements in peak data speeds, agility, and network latency, as well as the ability to enable new capabilities such as network slicing. This technology will allow the operators to support a growing number of customers and potentially billions of people connected over IoT devices with the consistent quality of service.

The technology will also spread the foundation for smarter cities and rural communities, industrial automation, connected vehicles, remote healthcare, and a myriad of business possibilities.
Nokia and Airtel are combined with expertise for giving the customers with a vivid business case using the collaborative workshops to define a phased strategy for network evolution and transformation and the implications of operations, technology, and business. 5G spectrum assessment is set to optimize spectrum resources to deliver the users with the capacity needed to realize their goals in 5G technology.

The agreement between Nokia and Airtel will leverage Nokia‘s 5G FIRST end-to-end 5G solution such as AirScale radio will give access to portfolio and data center platform AirFrame to demonstrate the 5G capabilities and simulate 5G extreme broadband using these cases and low latency communication and ultra-reliability.
According to J.S.Deepak, Telecom Secretary, who spoke at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona in Spain said that the government is working to ensure that India willingly accepts 5G telecom networks fast.
